LVMC Run to Read 5K & 10K

Year 26 of the Run to Read 5K & 10K!

Always the last Friday evening in July. A local family favorite with great food and a pool party after!
100% of proceeds benefit Literacy Volunteers of Marion County, a United Way agency. LVMC provides free tutoring to adults & children in basic reading, math, ESL (English as a second language), GED preparation & related subjects. LVMC is affiliated with Literacy West Virginia.
Over two centuries this event has been a staple race for the community. As the town's streets have changed so have the course and distances.
This event has been a 5K, 15K, 1 mile, and more, but ultimately became a 5K. In 2020 we brought back the 10K distance as two loops of the challenging 5K couse.
